Procon has been operating the Underground Mines at Ekati since 2001 and is currently managing the Misery Underground Mine under the KeTe Whii/Procon Joint Venture. The operation is seasonal, which creates logistical constraints due to reliance on winter road access only. The scope of work includes providing all underground labor and equipment for the 3,400 tonnes-per-day sub-level cave mine. Access to the mine is facilitated through two portals developed from the open-pit ramp into the ore body.
